Golden Buddha Beach Resort

Golden Buddha Resort is situated on the west side of the Island of Koh Phra Thong, two hours drive north of Phuket. With three small stilt fishing villages and one other small resort on the Island, we strive to keep the land around Golden Buddha Beach in its natural state by blending in with the flora and fauna here. Golden Buddha Beach Resort sponsors a Sea Turtle Conservation project, a coral reef watch and a mangrove conservation project.

Golden Buddha Beach Resort is in a world class setting - a narrow peninsula jutting into the Andaman Sea with a pristine cove on one side and an endless sweep of golden beach on the other. It is an ideal launching point for exploring the marine life and the islands of the Andaman Sea.

At Golden Buddha Bungalows, an almost deserted, 16-kilometer long beach is practically at the doorstep of your private bungalow, located on a large, tree-covered lot ensuring you quietness and privacy.

A total of 35 rooms in one-bedroom, thatch-roofed cottages and in two-bedroom family houses made out of tropical hardwoods and other natural materials are on offer. You will enjoy the pleasure of sleeping in comfortable surroundings under white mesh nets in comfortable Western standard beds. Open air bathrooms with views of the sea and surrounding woods add to the natural feeling. During high and low season, electricity is available from 18:00-23:00.

At GBB Resort, you can dine in an open pavilion with the view to our two beaches. You can choose between Western and Asian breakfast. For lunch and dinner, a set meal is served with fresh seafood, vegetables, and fresh fruit. Vegetarian meals and a selection of European wines are available.

Golden Buddhabeach Resort offers many activities to choose from: swim and sunbathe on two beaches with complete privacy, snorkel in waters only a five-minute boat ride from the resort, visit an old fishing village built on stilts, walk through primary rain forest emerging on a deserted beach or enjoy a guided kayak trip through tranquil mangrove lagoons. And if you wish, you may even join the Yoga classes if they are in progress when you are here with us. The more energetic ones can bump along on a jeep safari through African-like savanna and forest in the interior of the island or take a day trip by a fast boat to the Surin Islands, Thailand's best snorkelling site.

Snorkelling and other water-based activities may be limited during the monsoon season from May to October.

At Golden Buddha Beach Bird watching is a favorite pastime of some of our visitors, one of whom has furnished us a bird watching list of over a hundred sightings by a group of bird watchers who were guests in the past.

From Golden Buddha Resort, a variety of nature walks can be enjoyed - from beach to forest to small wooded hills overlooking the ocean.
